Meals On Wheels
Meals On Wheels

St. Stephen has partnered with Meals on Wheels to bring food to the elderly in the Tarrant County area.  Several members of St. Stephen volunteer their time each week to deliver meals to the elderly and homebound residents in the Tarrant County area.

This ministry is open to more volunteers.  If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact our office to get more information on how to help.

Arlington Life Shelter

St. Stephen has partnered with the Arlington Life Shelter and is one of the faith-based organizations which provides meals to those living at the shelter. St. Stephen provides approximately 100 lunches once per quarter to the shelter to help feed the residents living at the shelter.

In addition, St. Stephen regularly runs monthly food and supply collections which are then donated to the food pantry at the Arlington Life Shelter.

Advocates for Special People, Inc. is a support group for parents and families with children who have intellectual disabilities and have graduated high school or are within a few years of doing so. The focus is on creating new and supporting existing programs in which these special adult children can participate

St. Stephen is home to one of four year-round day programs operated by Advocates for Special People in Arlington. The day program serves approximately twenty-five “campers” with educational, recreational, social and creative activities.

Carter Blood Care
Carter Blood Care

St. Stephen has partnered with Carter Blood Care and recently hosted a blood drive in November 2021.  At this event, we were able to provide 14 units of life-saving blood.

Carter Blood Care’s primary purpose is to provide life-saving resources to local hospitals in our regional communities.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world by sending out shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with local churches like St Stephen UMC to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

We encourage our members to pack shoeboxes and purchase shoebox labels so we can help children in need share the love of Christ!

In 2022, our members packed 39 boxes to donate to Samaritan’s Purse for Operation Christmas Child.

Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex

St. Stephen has partnered with Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex to help provide food to those in need.

To help celebrate World Communion Sunday, St. Stephen will be holding a food drive from October 2nd, 2022 through November 6th, 2022 to benefit Mission Arlington.  All food items donated to St. Stephen will be delivered to Mission Arlington to directly help members of our community.  See the food list below to see how you can help!

Arlington ISD

St. Stephen has partnered with several schools in the Arlington ISD including Wimbish World Language Academy, Shackelford Junior High and Lamar High School to provide for their students where possible.  Each year we provide school supplies, cold weather clothing and other requested items to the students attending these schools.

Recently, St. Stephen participated in a school supply drive to provide much needed supplies to students and staff at Wimbish World Language Academy.
